About the Research and Teaching Network on Technological Innovation (RIDIT)
The Research and Teaching Network on Technological Innovation is 22 years old as a scientific society, bringing together social sciences and engineering scholars. It is based in Mexico and comprises regional nodes scattered throughout the country. At the international level, its presence is manifested through nodes in Cuba, Costa Rica, Colombia, Spain and the United States. One of its most important activities is the dissemination of cutting-edge knowledge based on the experience of its members, the holding of conferences and the production of academic publications.
The Conference of the RIDIT (CONRIDIT)
The Conference of the RIDIT (CONRIDIT) was originally conceived as a space for dialogue and exchange among the different communities of scholars in Mexico, which has globalized and transcended borders. The topics of the network seek to contribute to the state of art, both for research and teaching.
This 15th Conference is conceptualized as a vehicle for scientific dissemination where different disciplinary perspectives on technological and social change explain the phenomena of innovation and entrepreneurship from a novel perspective based on the Economics of Colors.
Two crises have highlighted new ways of approaching the study of Economics. On the one hand, the environmental crisis postulates challenges in the New Urban Economy where the nature of resources generates diverse growth opportunities and development potential. On the other hand, the crisis of the neoclassical approach provides solutions and effective growth models.
It has been strongly questioned during the decades of the 21st century, generating new approaches based on new resource bases. Thus, we can speak of an Economy of Colors (or Color Economies), where each colour emphasizes the use of the resource base, be it natural, physical infrastructure, social environment, demographic, technological or intangible.
