CODE BLUE is an international conference where the world's top class information security specialists gather to give cutting edge talks, and is a place for all participants to exchange information and interact beyond borders and languages... [more on CODE BLUE website]
This year will be a HYBRID conference, with both ONLINE and IN-PERSON sessions.
We are looking for innovative and creative research topics regarding information security to be presented at the conference being held on October 27th and 28th, 2022.
Submission Guidelines for Conference Talks
All presentations should be original to authors.
How to Submit for Conference Talks
- To submit CFP for the conference, click the [submission link] under the title above.
- Technical sessions --- Technical topics in cybersecurity
- General sessions --- Topics covering all aspects of cybersecurity
- Youth sessions --- Special sessions for authors under 25 years old
- Counter Cyber Crime sessions -- Any topics related to fighting cybercrime
- Law & Policy sessions -- Any topics related to Law & Policy in cybersecurity
- Bluebox sessions -- Open source tools, projects, etc.,
- Community sessions --- Introduction of interesting hacker communities
- Note:
- Please describe your research with enough details in the abstract. Detailed abstracts will help the review board in better understanding your research/findings, and help the review board in making their decisions.
- All presentations should be submitted by the original authors.
- We urge you to submit your talk topic early before the CFP closes since we will close the CFP prior to the closing date if enough quality submissions are received to fill the slots.
- Session Length:
- Presentations should be expected to fill up to 30-45 minute time slot, however depending on available time slots a presentation may be allocated slightly more or less time.
- Simultaneous interpretation:
- Simultaneous interpretation for English and Japanese will be available.
- For non-English native speakers and wish to speak in your native language, please let us know in the submission form. We might be able to arrange an interpreter.
- Under-25:
- Applicant must be at age of 25 or younger as of October 28th, 2022.
- To apply for the CFP of Youth session, write your age in the age field. We may ask for your identification to verify your age.
- We have a special R&D support fund (or scholarship) for up to 500,000 JPY per person for the excellent youth speakers selected by the review committee.
Speaker Benefits
- Honorarium:
- For Technical/General/Counter Cyber Crime/Law & Policy sessions - 75,000 JPY as the honorarium for your presentations.
- For Bluebox/Community sessions - 10,000 JPY as the honorarium for your presentations, plus the travel support for this year!
- For Youth sessions - The outstanding speaker selected by the review committee will be awarded a research grant for up to 500,000 JPY.
- Free entrance to CODE BLUE 2022

- Party -- Full access to the Speaker/VIP party and networking party.
- Gift -- A special gift for all the speakers presenting at our conference.
- Travel cost
- We cover the travel cost for a speaker per a session (except Bluebox and Community).
- Oversea > We will cover basic airfare of the best price round trip coach class seat and the accommodation of three nights during the conference.
- Domestic > We cover the travel cost. For speakers from the long distance, we provide accommodation of three nights during the conference.
- Please note that if you are unable to come to Japan due to the Japanese government's strict COVID-19 travel restrictions, we can arrange an online presentation for you.
- We cover the travel cost for a speaker per a session (except Bluebox and Community).

AFTER YOUR PROPOSALS IS ACCEPTED (Speaker responsibilities)
- Send us an updated abstract/bio/photo.
- We ask you to submit your abstract, speaker bio and speaker photo for the conference website and conference program. (if you have special requests, such as "no photo", please let us know as soon as possible for us to accomodate your needs)
- Read the Speaker Guide
- We will send you a speaker guide. Explaining how to join the event, present, and recommendations on how to best enjoy the event
- Send us your slides.
- For our simultaneous translation to work the interpreters need to take time to understand the contents of your presentation to avoid any incorrect translations.
- If you have a script, that would help the interpreters, but it is not mandatory.
- (For overseas/pre-recorded speakers) Record your presentation and send us your presentation video.
- This way we can broadcast your presentation to the audience without the network troubles and the time zone differences.
