Dear colleagues,
NITS 2024 will take place on 06 June 2025 in Tilburg University, hosted by the ISMT group.
This year’s edition will feature a best Master thesis award. Hereby we would like to invite you to submit a nomination for the master thesis award.
The thesis should adhere to the following criteria:
- The thesis should be written in Dutch, English or French.
- The thesis should be in the general field of Translation and Interpreting Studies, including but not limited to:
- Translation studies
- Interpreting
- Machine translation
- Translation technology
- Human-AI interaction (in the context of translation)
- The thesis should be finished at the time of submission. We accept theses completed in the academic year 2023/2024.
- The thesis should be from a Masters program of an accredited Belgian or Dutch university.
- A minimum mark of 8.5/10 or 17/20 (85% of the total points) must have been awarded for the theses submitted.
- The thesis must be submitted in its original and graded form.
- The submitted thesis must be accompanied by:
- a support letter from the supervisor of no longer than 500 words, written in English. The letter should state why the thesis meets the criteria of academic quality and originality.
- A layman summary of the thesis in Dutch, English or French of no longer than 500 words outlining the problem, the methodology, the novelty and contribution and (ii) the thesis itself.
- A curriculum vitae of the student (maximum 2 A4 pages).
- The thesis should be submitted no later than 23:59:59 02 May 2025 (CET) via EasyChair (check the website for the correct link).
The award will be announced on the day of the meeting.
