Building Lives and Strengthening Communities Through Engagement
Integrative Ruminations (IR) was founded in the United States as an education and management consulting outfit to provide psychotherapy services and offer comprehensive consults to support organizations and communities with strategic planning, leadership development, program evaluations, organizational restructuring, and recruitment strategizing. Since its founding, IR has hosted numerous international conferences and training sessions, including webinars and workshops on various issues affecting our world. Nigeria has been selected for IR’s next international conference because of the country’s strategic position in the world and the need to engage African scholars, social commentators, healthcare (including mental health) practitioners and policy makers in addressing the critical issues that will be the focus of this conference.
Most countries are currently contending with challenges that were unforeseen and unimaginable decades ago. Depending on the society, disagreements are occurring over such subjects as spirituality, the influences of science in our world, and who is responsible for the numerous problems. While so many of us focus on these disagreements, little or no attention is paid to the devastating impact of human neglect whose effects are rippling through our social and political systems and causing considerable damage to society, culture, and mental health of citizens.
Against this background, Integrative Ruminations USA seeks to bring together people from diverse occupations to dialog on the current state of our world with a view of developing understanding, increasing awareness of specific issues facing communities and countries around the world, and presenting potential solutions to identified issues. This multidisciplinary international conference will provide participants with an opportunity and platform to explore some of the afore-mentioned challenges and proffer solutions that have the potential to improve the lives of people and strengthening our communities.
