About the Conference
To meet the enormous demand for metals, it is essential to utilize the low-grade ores, fines, and wastes, mainly because of the scarcity of high-grade ores worldwide. However, due to the changes in mineralogical characteristics of ore concerning the complex nature of ores and the increasing gangue content, processing low-grade ores is a considerable challenge. Compositional characteristics of ores are becoming more and more complex. High gangue-containing ores pose a severe operational problem during the metal extraction process. It also increases flux consumption and slag volumes, thus seriously hampering productivity and process economics. Mineral benefaction through only conventional routes may not be sufficient. At the same time, mining practices and mineral waste recycling are both evolving towards sustainable near-zero-waste processing of low-grade resources within a circular economy that requires a shift in business models, policies, and improvements in process technologies. The evolution towards low-grade primary ore and secondary raw material processing will allow for a critical supply of raw materials. In order to treat various and complex low-grade ores efficiently, the development in mineral processing, metal extraction, metal recovery, and matrix valorization is required. Extensive research are going on to develop novel techniques on these four areas. From an economic and environmental point of view, such processes must be fitted into new (circular) business models, whereby impacts and costs are divided over the entire value chain. Currently, low-grade ore and secondary raw material processing is environmentally beneficial when the mineral residues can be valorized, landfill costs are avoided, and incentives for waste processing can be taken into account. The utilization of processed ores in subsequent steps may also require special attention. It may require the development of altogether new routes of production. Wastes complicated the situation further. Nowadays, people are thriving for zero waste technologies for metal production. Consequently, it is crucial to collaborate with the academician, researcher, and industry personnel to think and do fruitful work in this direction. The convention aims to focus on and discuss such developments and new technologies in support of Academia, Industries, and business houses to facilitate the practicing Engineers and Engineering students to be aware of New advanced technologies for process industries.. Engineering Professionals from different industries, Academic Institutions, R&D Organisations, Government Departments and Entrepreneurs are hereby invited to submit their manuscript in line with the following Themes and Sub-theme that embraces the Theme of the National Seminar.
