Nour EL MADHOUN: Associate Professor at Isep, Grande École d'ingénieurs du numérique, France
Aims and Scope:
The rapid proliferation of the Web of Things (WoT) has revolutionized how devices, networks, and services interact in both personal and industrial environments. However, as the WoT ecosystem expands, it also becomes increasingly vulnerable to a wide range of security threats and privacy issues. The integration of heterogeneous devices, the massive exchange of data, and the complexities of managing diverse network architectures present unique security challenges that must be addressed to ensure the reliability and trustworthiness of WoT applications.
This book aims to provide a comprehensive examination of the security issues facing WoT networks and to particularly explore the huge potential of blockchain technology as a solution to these challenges. Blockchain, with its decentralized, transparent, and secure nature, has emerged as a promising approach to safeguarding WoT environments against threats such as unauthorized access, data tampering, and denial of service attacks.
We invite contributions that delve into the recent advancements in WoT, analyze the primary security threats, discuss current standards and regulations, and propose innovative blockchain-based solutions for securing WoT networks. This book seeks to bridge the gap between academia and industry, offering a valuable resource for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers interested in the future of WoT security.
Topics of interest for this call for chapters include (but are not limited to):
- Recent advancements in the Web of Things (WoT).
- Real use cases and scenarios with the WoTs.
- Decentralized architectures for WoT
- Security threats and vulnerabilities in WoT networks.
- Security and Privacy issues in WoT.
- Current standards, regulations, and security mechanisms for WoT.
- Blockchain-based approaches for securing WoT networks and data.

Submission Guidelines:
Authors are required to first submit an abstract of their proposed chapter. This abstract will undergo a brief review by the editors to ensure it aligns with the publication's scope and standards. If the abstract is approved, the authors will receive a notification of acceptance, after which they can proceed with the full chapter submission.
Please submit both abstracts and full chapters through EasyChair using the following link. There are no fees associated with the submission, review, or publication process. The corresponding author of each chapter should insert an "*" after his/her name. Corresponding authors will receive a free printed copy of the book from Springer.
Submitted chapters must represent original material that is not currently under review for another book, journal, or conference, and has not been previously published. All submissions must be written in English, with a minimum of sixteen (16) pages and a maximum of thirty (30) pages, following the Springer Book Chapter format in single column:
- The LaTeX template is available via this link.
- The Overleaf template is available via this link.
- The Word template is available via this link.
Important Dates:
- Abstract submission deadline: October 15, 2024.
- Abstract acceptance notification: November 01, 2024.
- Chapter submission deadline (upon receiving acceptance notification for the abstract): December 20, 2024.
- Notification of chapter review outcome: January 20, 2025.
