On behalf of the organizing committee, it is our great pleasure to welcome you to the International Symposium on Bioinformatics Research and Applications (ISBRA) 2025, held in the beautiful city of Helsinki, Finland. This year’s conference brings together leading researchers, scientists, and industry professionals from around the globe to share cutting-edge advancements, foster collaboration, and explore the future of bioinformatics and computational biology.

Submissions presenting original research are solicited in all areas of bioinformatics and computational biology, including the development of experimental or commercial systems. The previous ISBRA proceedings on SpringerLink are available on the Springer Website. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

• Submission deadline: March 25, 2025
• Notification of acceptance: May 1, 2025 
• Final version due: May 12, 2025
• Conference: August 3-5, 2025

Submission Guidelines

Please submit extended abstracts (up to 12 pages in the LNCS/CCIS one-column page format) via the online submission system. 

Submission implies the willingness of at least one author to register and present at the symposium. The authors should choose one of the following tracks:

Track 1: Submit up to 12 pages in LNCS format for (i) publication of the extended abstract in the Springer LNBI Proceedings and (ii) invitation to submit a 30%-50%-extended version to ISBRA2025 special issues. The pending approval journals are:

• IEEE/ACM Transactions on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics
• IEEE Transactions on Molecular, Biological, and Multi-Scale Communications
• Journal of Computer Science and Technology
• Tsinghua Science and Technology
• Chinese Journal of Electronics
• Big Data Mining and Analytics
• IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics

Track 2: Submit up to 12 pages in LNCS format for (i) a presentation at the conference and (ii) an invitation to submit a full-length paper to ISBRA2025 special issues. The pending approval journals are:

• Computational Biology
• Methods
• Interdisciplinary Sciences-Computational Life Sciences
• Health information science and systems
• Quantitative Biology
• BMC Bioinformatics
• BMC Genomics

Authors should consult Springer's Instructions for Authors of Proceedings and use either the LaTeX or the Word templates provided on the authors' page, for the preparation of their papers.
