A Data Warehouse for Mobile Application Privacy and Security Study

Abstract

Privacy plays an important role in mobile applications as more data is processed and stored in them every day. However, there are no studies on the impact of apps on the privacy of their users that they may consult to empower themselves in protecting their privacy. Among the causes, the lack of easily accessible repositories for researchers to store metadata related to application privacy. Therefore, in this article we present a repository with metadata of Android applications able to provide quality metadata to those who analyze the security and privacy of mobile applications. The quality of the data is guaranteed from the design, both of the processes of data integration, as well as its security and that of the repository. Currently, the repository is accessible and consists of metadata from a total of 9068 applications.
