Histogram Normalization of Medical Images in Real Time

Abstract

Our work involves applying real-time histogram normalization to medical images using an FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array). This technique enhances the visualization of anatomical structures, promoting early and precise medical diagnosis. FPGAs are chosen for their fast processing, crucial in the context of medical imaging with its large amount of data. Our application emphasizes the importance of histogram normalization and demonstrates the efficiency of the FPGA in meeting performance requirements, thereby contributing to the advancement of real-time medical imaging technologies.
