This paper presents the implementation of the Open Archival Information System (OAIS) model for archiving research grants’ data. The proposed system ensures structured storage, retrieval, and management of critical research outputs, including reports, publications, and financial records. While the implementation has addressed key challenges such as data ingestion, metadata management, and security, certain aspects require further refinement to optimize scalability and accessibility. Despite these challenges, the OAIS-based approach provides a robust foundation for future-proofing research data, ensuring its availability for strategic planning, performance evaluation, and institutional decision-making. The study highlights lessons learned from the initial deployment and outlines enhancements needed to improve system efficiency. Ultimately, this model serves as a sustainable framework for research data archiving, contributing to a more data-driven research ecosystem.Keyphrases: data security, digital preservation, metadata management, open archival information system (oais), research data management In: Laurence Desnos, Raimund Vogl, Lazaros Merakos, Carmen Diaz, Janina Mincer-Daszkiewicz and Stuart Mclellan (editors).
